New Tel Aviv Museum : Revealing the Hidden City

A total of Three hundred volunteers joined to collect photos for the new Tel Aviv Museum “Revealing the Hidden City.”

The City will be opening a new museum soon. It will be located in the old majestic municipal building on Bialik Street.

The historic museum will offer documents, artifacts, and thousands of photographs and many of which were collected in the special “Revealing the Hidden City” project.

Tel Aviv “Hill of Springs” is the first all-Jewish city. Tel Aviv is a big city, which sparkles with attractive beaches, cultural offerings, excellent shopping, and vibrant nightlife.

Tel Aviv first Museum was established as a city in 1932 in the home of Tel Aviv’s first mayor, Meir Dizengoff.

Philippine Department of Tourism Assures ‘Business As Usual’ Despite Maguindanao Incident

The Philippine Department of Tourism (PDOT) has assured that the Philippines remains on a business as usual mode, despite the killing of some 46 individuals in the Southern province of Maguindanao.

Despite the alarm caused by the incident, Tourism Secretary Ace Durano assured stakeholders of the tourism industry that the Philippines remains an ideal destination for tourism activities, business meetings and conferences.

The tourism chief made the assurance following the directive of Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo putting the Maguindanao, Sultan Kudarat and Cotabato City under a state of emergency, aimed at speeding up the investigation and arrest of the individuals involved in the incident.

The directive also places authorities including the Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines on full alert to prevent any untoward incidences in said areas. Continue Reading

6.5M foreign tourists expected to visit Indonesia

A total of 6.5 million foreign tourists are expected to visit Indonesia this year, a Tourism and Culture Ministry official said.

“I am convinced that the figure could be achieved,” I Gde Pitana, director for overseas promotion of the ministry said here on Tuesday.

The number of foreign tourist arrivals up to September is 4.6 million. Thus, Indonesia still have to attract another 1.9 billion in the remaining three months to achieve the projected 6.5 million. Continue Reading

Cambodia tourism rebound continues in September as arrivals rise

Cambodia’s key tourism sector showed further signs of recovery in September, local media reported on Wednesday, citing the newly released Ministry of Tourism data, although all-important air arrivals remained down on last year.

Total arrivals in the Kingdom hit 151,937 in September, the figures showed, up 4.68 percent on the same period last year and beating average annualized growth in first eight months of the year at l.68 percent, the Phnom Penh Post reported.

Bangkok voted as the most attractive city in Asia

Foreign tourists voted Bangkok the most attractive city to visit among 10 of 11 member cities Asian Network of Major Cities 21 (ANMC 21).

Following a Bangkok University ‘Bangkok Poll’ ranking10 cities, minus Myanmar’s Yangon, whose representatives joined the eighth meeting of ANMC 21 recently in Bangkok, the Thai capital was voted the most attractive city to visit by foreign travellers by receiving a score of 7.19 out of 10.

The survey was conducted from 31 October to 1 November 2009 among some 500 foreign tourists visiting Bangkok. Among the five factors that draw tourists to Bangkok, Thai food counted as around 20 per cent as being of interest of foreigners the most, while the city’s historical sites and ancient remains came second at 19 per cent.
