The Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation, Inc. (IDFI) has set some guidelines for media accreditation to be followed both by the local and national media practitioners in covering the Iloilo Dinagyang Festival 2011 on January 22-23.
Nena Magalona of the Publicity and Media Relations Committee said each media practitioner who wants to cover the event should secure a media accreditation.

She noted that the foundation will only issue accreditation to those practitioners affiliated with legitimate media organization or agency.
Since the deadline of accreditation for local media was supposedly last Monday, the foundation has extended the deadline until January 14 to give way to those media practitioners who failed to secure their accreditation forms.
On the part of the national media, they could still apply even until the day of the festival, provided that they will accomplish properly all the guidelines given them.
Here are some requirements for the accreditation: Media accreditation should be accomplished with 1X1 picture and signed by the head of the agency or organization; Media group based outside of Iloilo should secure an endorsement of their request for media accreditation from the city or provincial tourism office in their respective areas; Accomplished media accreditation form of local media should be submitted to the IDFI on or before January 14; A color code for Media ID shall be assigned to indicate access to the media space in a specific performance area.

Magalona said media practitioners with issued Media IDs will only be allowed to access in one specific area according to the color code issued to them.
“We want to organize the classification of IDs to prevent the same incidents that happened in previous years which involved some of our media practitioners. This time we want to orient the local media here so that they will be guided accordingly before the festival”, she said during the recent press conference at the Philippine Red Cross conference hall.
Magalona stressed that they are expecting more or less 600 local media to be accredited by the foundation.
As of Tuesday, one travel writer from London has submitted his accreditation form to the IDFI.
