The Tourist Authority of Thailand (TAT) has just announced the launch of a new tourism recovery plan, from online video campaigns to roadshows and even familiarisations to come in the next few months.
In order to battle any downward dips in tourism figures, TAT has “embarked on an immediate tourism recovery plan and is working closely with the Thai tourism industry to restore confidence in the destination.”
Already TATs has recorded a series of testimonials from actual tourists from attractions and these have been loaded onto video sharing sites such as YouTube.com and DailyMotion.com, as well as the official TAT site under tourism updates.
A ‘Mega Familiarisation’ is being planned from the 8th of October to the 12th of October involving 800 media and travel trade representatives from all around the world. Participants in the trip will also be attending a tradeshow on the 10th of October in Chiang Mai.
For those who can’t personally make it to Thailand to see what’s happening, TAT is organising eight Amazing Thailand Tradeshows in the next few months to China, Vietnam and specific countries in Europe.
Additionally TAT confirms that 74 events supported by the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) scheduled for the remainder of 2008 will still be conducted as planned.
