Cebu Pacific offers 200,000 domestic seats for as low as P288 all-in; International seat sale starting from ZERO fares!

After the sold-out absolute zero all-in seat sale last week, Cebu Pacific (CEB) is offering another seat sale for all its domestic routes and some of its international services. The seat sale will run from September 26 to October 3, 2008.

We are offering all-in Go Lite fares of P288 for services from Manila to Busuanga, Kalibo, Laoag, Legaspi, Naga, San Jose and Tuguegarao and for flights from Cebu to Bacolod, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Dipolog, GenSan, Iloilo, Ozamiz, Surigao, and Tacloban.

Philippine Airlines to Increase Flights to Bangkok Thailand

Philippine Airlines will be flying twice daily to Bangkok when it adds three more frequencies to its previous four evening flights on 2 October 2008. PAL will add flights every Monday, Thursday and Saturday.

Flight PR 732 will now depart Manila everyday at 7:30 p.m., arriving in Bangkok at 9:50 p.m. The return service, PR 733, departs Bangkok daily at 11:10 p.m. and lands back in Manila at 3:40 a.m. the following day.

Modern Airbus A320 aircraft, which seats 12 in Mabuhay Class (business) and 144 in Fiesta Class (economy), will continue to fly the evening frequency. Continue Reading

Boracay, Palawan among Asia’s top vacation spots

Travelers from all over the region have chosen Boracay Island and Palawan province in the Philippines as two of the best holiday destinations in Asia this year, according to a Web poll by online travel magazine Smart Travel Asia.

The 2008 online poll showed Boracay and Palawan ranking seventh and eighth respectively in the top 10 holiday destinations in Asia. Palawan shared eighth place with Chiang Mai, Thailand. Both Philippine destinations were jointly ranked seventh in the 2007 Smart Travel Asia poll. Continue Reading

World Tourism Day Recognized in the United States and Nations Worldwide on Saturday, September 27

Across the globe, September 27th heralds World Tourism Day, an annual event sanctioned by the U.N. World Tourism Organization.

In Washington this year, the salute will be highlighted at the Travel Leadership Summit, where 27 state tourism leaders and dozens of cities will convene to press passage of the Travel Promotion Act (S.1661 / H.R. 3232) and discuss other key issues to Congress.

The global theme of World Tourism Day, “Responding to the Challenge of Climate Change”, is among the key business and public policy issues fronting the U.S. travel industry. In June, TIA issued a Primer on Travel and Climate Change that provided a starting point for travel’s increased involved in environmental policies. Also, American Express and TIA will release next month a landmark Travel Sustainability Initiative that is designed to make crucial information available and to guide the travel industry in its response to assuring sustainability in travel and tourism. Cebu Pacific offers Cebu hub and Manila-Busuanga seat sale

Cebu Pacific is offering a promotional sale for all of domestic services from its Cebu hub and its daily Manila-Busuanga flights after it announced that it will base two ATR aircraft in Cebu.

The seat sale will run from 11-Sept to 15-Sept-08 and is valid for travel from 01-Oct to 17-Dec-08.

Thailand Tourism launches recovery plan

The Tourist Authority of Thailand (TAT) has just announced the launch of a new tourism recovery plan, from online video campaigns to roadshows and even familiarisations to come in the next few months.

In order to battle any downward dips in tourism figures, TAT has “embarked on an immediate tourism recovery plan and is working closely with the Thai tourism industry to restore confidence in the destination.”

Already TATs has recorded a series of testimonials from actual tourists from attractions and these have been loaded onto video sharing sites such as YouTube.com and DailyMotion.com, as well as the official TAT site under tourism updates. Continue Reading

Cebu Pacific taps i-Tech to improve phone call booking

Cebu Pacific (CEB), the leading carrier for the ASEAN, is using a third party, Interactive Technology Solutions, Inc. (i-Tech), for phone call reservations on top of its own call center operations to make booking faster and more convenient.

i-Tech’s services, which started last Aug. 8, 2008, handles CEB’s over five million phone in bookings annually.
