Purple, pink, orange, red and yellow orchids and chrysanthemum pom-poms are put together to form this splendid peacock that is eight feet tall and 12 feet long. Its long, flamboyant tail flows down to join an intricate Kolam or Rangoli on the floor.

Studded with 750 stalks of orchids and 9,300 chrysanthemum pom-poms, the floral peacock is associated with Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity, good luck, kindness and patience.

The colourful floral peacock and Kolam were created by the hotel’s in-house florists and artists.

Kolam is a drawing formed by using rice flour, chalk and white rock powder in different colours. It is believed to bring prosperity, as well as a sign of welcome to all guests to the home.

Deepavali is the biggest and most important festival for the Hindus. The festival celebrates the victory of light over darkness.

On Deepavali night, Hindus dress up in new clothes, light lamps and candles inside and outside their homes and participate in puja or prayers to Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity.
