7th Gourmet Insitute Annual Event to be held in New York City in October 2009

The Gourmet Institute will return to New York City from October 23 – 25, 2009, featuring New York City’s premiere culinary talent in locations throughout the city. The weekend event, hosted by Gourmet magazine, will offer a diverse collection of demonstrations, private tours, discussions and tastings that will grant food enthusiasts intimate access to the industry’s leading experts.

For the first time in The Gourmet Institute’s seven-year history, guests will be able to purchase individual tickets to the events of their choosing, including the first-ever indoor Gourmet Marketplace.

Culinary personalities scheduled to appear include: Ruth Reichl, Dan Barber, Mario Batali, April Bloomfield, David Bouley, Daniel Boulud, Anthony Bourdain, Floyd Cardoz, Scott Conant, Gina DePalma, Sara Moulton, Florent Molleret, Charlie Palmer, Michael Psilakis, Eric Ripert, Marcus Samuelsson, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, as well as editors from Gourmet. Scheduled appearances are subject to change.

The Gourmet Marketplace makes its debut this year for guests to enjoy throughout the weekend.

 For $20, visitors to the Gourmet Marketplace will enjoy celebrity chef book signings, food tastings, artisanal food and beverage vendors, access to Gourmet’s chefs as well as kid-friendly activities. In addition, The Gourmet Institute’s series of events will take place throughout New York City at venues including: The Institute of Culinary Education, Astor Center, Murray’s Cheese, Artisanal Cheese Center, and The Altman Building.
