AirAsia X celebrates First 100,000 Passengers with 5,000 Free Seats Giveaway

In less than five months of operations, AirAsia X, a low-cost, long-haul airline has reached the milestone of 100,000 seats sold valued at approximately RM100 million. AirAsia X is currently serving two international destinations, the Gold Coast in Australia and Hangzhou in China, and with more destinations planned for launch this year, the airline is setting a new benchmark of flying 250,000 guests by end of October 2008, after completing one full year in operation.

To celebrate the 100,000 milestone, the airline is offering 5,000 free seats. Travellers can participate in the free seat campaign by booking online at airasia.com before 16 March 2008 for a travel period between 20 March and 23 June 2008.

AirAsia X is also rewarding the lucky 100,000th guest with 10 free tickets for the next 12 months.

In addition to the 5,000 free seat campaign, for those who fancy sweating it out with over 50,000 music fanatics and painting the town red while catching The Smashing Pumpkins, Duran Duran, Queens of the Stone Age and many others jammin’ live together, can also take part in AirAsia X’s V Fest promotion. Dubbed as one of the biggest live shows of the year, V Festival will relive its glory in Australia and AirAsia X is offering a chance to win complimentary V Fest tickets complete with 4-day 3-night accommodation in Gold Goast, Australia.

The V Festival 2008 will be making its round across the Australian continent and with AirAsia X’s direct flight to Gold Coast, winners will have a chance to join the ‘stage’ and party with their music heroes on the stunning grounds of Avica Resort on 30 March 2008.

20 winners will have a chance to experience flying onboard AirAsia X’s Airbus A330 which will depart for Gold Coast on 28 March and returning on 1 April 2008. To take part, one can tune in to FlyFM before 23 March 2008 daily and call in when they hear the cue to call between 8.00am and 10.00am, and 4.00pm to 8.00pm.
