Spirit Airlines launches Daily Non-Stop Flights between Fort Lauderdale and Columbia

Low cost carrier Spirit Airlines, has launched a daily non-stop service between Fort Lauderdale and Columbia, South Carolina.

To celebrate the launch, Spirit is offering US$9 introductory fares available at spiritair.com until end-Friday US time. Every day value season fares from US$87 are also available.

The new route will be operated by Spirit’s new Airbus fleet, one of the youngest in the Americas.

“We are thrilled to bring the first ultra low cost airline service to the Midlands of South Carolina,” said Mark Kopczak, Spirit’s Senior Director of Network Planning. “In addition to non-stop service to our Fort Lauderdale gateway, this new service will provide the ideal opportunity for travelers to connect to over 20 destinations in the United States, Caribbean and Latin America.”

“Spirit Airlines’ announcement of service at Columbia Metropolitan Airport is a great thing for everyone in the Riverbanks Region and beyond,” added Columbia Metropolitan Airport Executive Director Mike Flack. “Spirit is well known for its dependable service at very reasonable fares along with a great system of business and leisure destinations. Our travelers will love this new service and the opportunities it brings.”

Spirit Airlines flies more than 200 daily flights to 43 destinations. The company is based in Miramar, Florida, and employs 2,600 people.
