HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam, May 5, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — "Meals of Smiles" (B?a ?n Tr?n V?n) is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative of GreenFeed Vietnam and clean-food brand G. Established in 2019, they aim to deliver clean, nutritious food products to people who lack access to such goods. Their initial goal is to deliver 1,000,000 meals of smiles in the first 03 years.
In the spirit of community support to overcome the challenges of COVID-19 pandemic and as part of the Meals of Smiles initiative, GreenFeed Vietnam delivered 10,000 high-quality clean-food products to the frontline responders (doctors, nurses, healthcare workers, army soldiers) who were working around the clock to save lives, people facing economic hardship, and local orphanages. They commit to deliver values to the community in order to alleviate the negative economic and social impacts.
Supporting the frontline responders
While the public was staying home during the time of social distancing and self-quarantine to "flatten the curve" and minimize the spread of COVID-19 virus, the healthcare workers, army supporters, and volunteers were working non-stop at hospitals, field hospitals and isolations centers. They had not had proper meals and rest since the beginning of the outbreak.
G started with a delivery of 1,500 clean, nutritious products to Ho Chi Minh City National Hospital for Tropical Diseases. Following, GreenFeed Vietnam delivered 6,500 G products and 400 vitamin supplements to field hospitals and isolation centers in Ho Chi Minh City extended area, ensuring nutritious intakes and strengthening the immune system.
Bringing "Meals of Smiles" to the less-fortunate youth
Since the beginning, the youth has been the focus of the initiative since they need proper nutrition and clean food to ensure strong growth and development. GreenFeed Vietnam and G are currently sponsoring 17 orphanages in Ho Chi Minh City, delivering products on a weekly basis to ensure the freshness and highest quality. In response to COVID-19, they tightened precaution and protection protocols in order to ensure safe delivery for the orphanages as well as the workers.
Alleviating the negative socio-economic impact of COVID-19
GreenFeed Vietnam partnered up with Lotus Fund (Qu? T? Thi?n Bông Sen) và restaurant Smile 4 (Quán ?n N? C??i 4) to deliver 1,200 G products at the restaurant and directly to people in financial hardship with support from Lotus Fund volunteer network.
Further support to residential areas and other provinces.
GreenFeed Vietnam deployed automatic hand-sanitizing stations at 14 buildings in 6 apartment complexes, serving over 7,000 families. Receiving positive reception and feedback, they are in the process of scaling up this meaningful contribution to the community. In terms of business, they expanded the logistics team to meet the increasing demand for online shopping and home delivery.
Through the Vietnamese Fatherland Front (M?t Tr?n T? Qu?c Vi?t Nam), GreenFeed donated 500 million Vietnam Dong to support medical centers in the provinces with GreenFeed facilities: Vinh Long, Dong Nai, Long An, Binh Dinh, Hung Yen, Ha Nam, Binh Thuan, Dak Nong, and Ba Ria Vung Tau. This was just a small token of the gratitude to the front-line fighters who were working hard to stop the spread of the virus.
