A picture is worth a thousand words and at the Selous Safari Camp in southern Tanzania, Camp Manager and successful artist, Jenny Hartree hopes to help her budding wildlife photographers capture the once-in-a-lifetime shot. On hand to offer tips and advice on how to set up the perfect photo by using the correct light, camera settings, and lenses, British-born Jenny Hartree has an inherent love of nature and wildlife which exudes through her work and teachings. A semi-finalist numerous times for the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, Jenny has explored Africa extensively over the past 25 years successfully transferring images captured on film into detailed pencil drawings. Jenny’s top tips for the amateur photographer include:
· To get the best wildlife shot, get down as low as possible and onto a level with the subject
· Look at what’s behind or to the side of you, not just in front
· Zoom in and zoom out to get a different perspective and to make it look different to the standard wildlife shots you see, abstract close-ups can be very powerful
