8,888 Free Seats on AirAsia to Hangzhou

AirAsia X is giving away 8,888 free seats on its new Kuala Lumpur – Hangzhou route.

This free seats promotion is available for the travel period from 30 March 2008 – 11 January 2009, and is offered exclusively through online bookings made before 27 February 2008. Guests are advised to book early as free seats are usually snapped up pretty fast.

AirAsia X launched its service to Hangzhou on 4 February, and is extending its schedule from March 2008 to January 2009. Hangzhou itself is poised to receive a major tourism boost with this extension of service, as it welcomes visitors from Malaysia, Southeast Asia and Australia.

Hangzhou is regarded as the tourism capital of China, with its natural beauty and historical and cultural heritage. Known as an ideal destination for a scenic holiday, a place for tea and nature lovers, Hangzhou is also a metropolitan city with business opportunities at the same time. It is also the gateway to the Yangtze River delta where Shanghai and other metropolitan cities like Nanjing, and Suzhou are located.

Kathleen Tan, AirAsia’s Regional Head of Commercial, said, “We hope our ‘8,888’ free seats giveaway will not just symbolise but bring luck and prosperity to our guests this year and encourage more people to fly with us. We look forward to draw more international and regional guests to China using Kuala Lumpur as its connecting gateway. As a truly low-cost long-haul low fares airline, AirAsia X will progressively increase passenger traffic and boost tourism in Hangzhou and the surrounding areas like Shanghai, to Malaysia and vice versa. And with AirAsia’s network to 90 connecting destinations in the ASEAN region, these guests will have the privilege to discover other exciting countries in the region and beyond; explore business opportunities and experience each others culture.”
