The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Miami has upgraded its six VIP Spa Suites with new time offerings, bespoke amenities and an elegant décor. The six spa suites are located on the top floor of the Spa and all feature floor to ceiling windows with panoramic views of Biscayne Bay. Intelligent Spas Publishes New Zealand Spa Benchmark Report

Intelligent Spas has released its New Zealand Spa Benchmark Report 2002-2010 which shows that total spa industry revenue in New Zealand has grown 72% over the last five years.

The New Zealand Spa Benchmark Report 2002-2010 includes updated financial benchmarks for revenue and employment plus valuable benchmark ratios such as daily revenue per spa, revenue per square metre and employees per treatment room. Current industry trends observed by spa owners and managers and new profile benchmarks detailing infrastructure, business models and treatments are also included in the report. Many of the benchmarks are available by both the New Zealand industry average and by spa type for day spas.

“This third survey of New Zealand spas found although the industry has grown overall in terms of spa numbers, employment and revenue, average annual revenue per spa has decreased over the last five years. The new financial benchmarks included in the report empower spas to accurately analyse the state of their business in comparison to the competitive marketplace and modify their operations to improve and maintain their performance” explained Julie Garrow, Managing Director of the independent research company, Intelligent Spas. Valuable benchmark ratios such as daily revenue per spa, revenue per visitor and revenue per square metre are also included in the new report, in addition to current industry trends observed by spa owners and managers.

InterContinental Hanoi Westlake opens State-of-the-Art Fitness Center

The InterContinental Hanoi Westlake is aiming to set a new standard in fitness center appeal throughout Vietnam with the launch of it Health Club membership sales campaign.

Housed in an airy, stand-alone building, the Health Club features an array of Life Fitness-brand equipment imported from the United States, including six treadmills, three cross trainers, two recumbent bikes and two upright bikes — all with integrated LCD.

“It’s easy to make fitness center equipment that looks good, and you see this all over Vietnam,” said Christian Pirodon, the hotel’s general manager. “But we made an investment in some of the best machinery available. The stature of the equipment had to be commensurate with the stature of the hotel.”

Beyond the bikes, treadmills and trainers, the club boasts a full complement of Signature Series Life Fitness strength machines, for chest press, shoulder press, leg curls and other muscle group exercises. Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur opens New Premium Wing and Spa

The Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur has opened a new premium wing, the Orchid Club, adding 78 rooms to a total of 426 rooms and suites, as well as the St Gregory Spa, also managed by Parkroyal Hotels & Resorts.

Located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle, Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur is an ideal choice for leisure or business travelers as it offers easy access to main shopping venues as well as the business district.

The new Orchid Club wing is where guests can enjoy a new level of comfort and privileges. A private glass bubble lift transports guests directly from the hotel lobby up to the Orchid Club Lounge (one of the largest in the city at 438m²) on level six.

The Club Floors are located on levels three to six and feature rooms of 30m² to 72m² in size. Guests can expect 32-inch Sony LCD televisions with attached DVD players, free Internet usage, larger bathrooms with separate bath and shower facilities.
