Mark Dunkerley, Hawaiian’s president and CEO, commented, “Hawaiian Airlines has a long and distinguished record of landmark achievements in its eight decades of service and our new flight to Manila is the latest in many more to come.”

Dunkerley added, “We have been energized by the outpouring of support from the community, and look forward to providing our Manila customers with our distinctive brand of service that has made Hawaiian a recognized leader in the industry.”

Manila is Hawaiian’s first gateway city into Asia. The new service also makes Hawaiian the only U.S. carrier providing nonstop service between Manila and Honolulu, and will more than double capacity on the route.

Hawaiian’s inaugural return flight from Manila will arrive in Honolulu on Thursday, April 17, at 11:15 a.m., with 100 business and community leaders from the Philippines on board.

Hawaiian’s Flight #455 will depart Honolulu International Airport on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 12:30 p.m. and arrive at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila the following day at 5:15 p.m. Return Flight #456 will depart Manila on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 7:00 p.m. and arrive in Honolulu the same day at 11:15 a.m. (Manila is 18 hours ahead of Honolulu and the flight crosses the International Dateline.)

In celebration of its new service, Hawaiian is offering a special introductory roundtrip fare between Honolulu and Manila of $499, plus taxes and fees, for Coach Class seating that is good for travel purchases through May 31, 2008. Hawaiian will operate the nonstop route using its wide-body, twin-aisle Boeing 767-300ER aircraft that seat up to 264 passengers. The comfort and convenience of Hawaiian’s 2-3-2 seating configuration provides either window or aisle seating to 86 percent of the passengers. The flight time is more than 10 hours.
