Hilton Shanghai completes Renovation of Executive Offerings

The Hilton Shanghai recently completed renovations to enhance its facilities popular with executive guests. The hotel has introduced a fresh new look to its popular Executive Floor Rooms and Lounge, 24/7 business facilities and trans fat-free menus.

The renovated Executive Lounge on the 38th floor is now three times larger, stretching a full 50 meters across the entire southeast side of the building and measuring 450sqm in area. Designed by internationally renowned interior design firm Catallo+MacKenzie, the lounge can comfortably accommodate up to 110 guests.

The lounge’s two-meter tall windows offer a sweeping 270 degree east-to-west city view of the leafy lanes and colorful rows of housing of old Shanghai’s French concession, with the city’s modern skyscrapers in the background.

The refurbished executive floor rooms have been similarly transformed with vibrant new interiors and furnishings. Dark wood contemporary furniture harmonizes perfectly with the vibrant hues of the warm toned walls and lively, light-colored oriental carpeting. In the bathrooms, entire walls of stately black marble contrast with the marble floor, white counter and tub for a cool and modern ambience.

Business travelers will appreciate the dedicated work zone that includes high speed broadband connectivity in rooms, an executive desk, 42” flat screen TV and two telephone lines with voicemail.

Executive floor guests can also benefit from two hours of complimentary lounge wireless internet access per stay, 30 minutes daily free access to the lounge’s two broadband-connected work stations, and the exclusive use of the Executive Lounge Library. Each guest is also entitled to two hours usage per stay of the Executive Lounge meeting room, which seats up to eight people. All Executive Floor business services are available 24/7.

Other benefits for Executive Floor guests include continental breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails with canapés, free access to the hotel’s swimming pool, fitness center, and 3,000sqm spa with its sauna, steam and jacuzzi.

The Hilton Shanghai has also become one of the first hotels in Shanghai to completely ban harmful trans fats from its menus, and offer nutritionally-balanced meal choices as part of its newly-launched –“Eat Right!” initiative.

“We don’t believe that health and wellness should take a back seat just because one is traveling on business – that was the impetus behind the integration of our health club and spa in 2004 and also our new Eat Right initiative,” Mr. Hutchinson said.

Hilton Shanghai’s “Eat Right!” provides nutrition-conscious menu options promoting organic ingredients and reduced saturated fats, cholesterol, carbohydrates and calories. Trans fats, known to increase the risk of coronary heart disease, have been replaced with healthier substitutes in all in-house dishes and deli products and all ingredients used are gluten free.
