Swiss firm targets tourism project in Phu Yen

Tradco Global Engineering and Construction S.A (TGEC) of Switzerland has asked for central Phu Yen province’s permission to invest in a tourism project in Tuy An district.

The provincial Planning and Investment Department said the group wants to build a golf course and a resort at a minimum capital of 1.5 billion US dollars.

If the procedure is in schedule, the Swiss firm will begin its first phase of the project in the fourth quarter of 2009 and complete the project in 2015.

The provincial Planning and Investment Department’s representative informed that the project is within the designated area for a Special Economic Zone, which was agreed by Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates in October 2008.
